Dog Anxiety & Fear Training in Reno

Build real confidence in anxious, fearful, or shut-down dogs.

Book a Free Evaluation

Anxious dogs aren’t bad dogs — they’re overwhelmed. Trembling, hiding, destruction when left alone, or shutting down in new places all point to a dog that needs structure and confidence. We give fearful dogs the tools and the calm leadership they need to feel safe in the world.

Signs we can help with

  • Trembling, hiding, or cowering
  • Destruction or accidents when alone
  • Shutting down in new environments
  • Fear of people, noises, or other dogs

How we fix it

We start with a free evaluation to understand your dog and your goals. Then we build a structured day-train program — your dog trains with our team by day and comes home each night, and we teach you the same tools through in-home lessons so the results last for life.

Every program includes our 4-week guarantee and lifetime free group classes after graduation. Whether you’re in Sparks, Carson City, or anywhere in the Reno area, we’re here to help.

Questions

Anxiety & Fear Questions from Reno Dog Owners

How do you train a fearful dog without making the fear worse?

We never flood a fearful dog. Training starts with structure and clear communication in low-pressure settings, then builds confidence through small, successful exposures. The goal is a dog that trusts you to handle the situation.

Can training help a dog on anti-anxiety medication?

Yes. One of our Reno clients’ dogs was able to come off strong daily anti-anxiety medication after the program. Training is not a substitute for veterinary care — we work alongside your vet, not instead of them.

Does day-train work for separation anxiety?

It helps most dogs. Day-train builds independence and calm-on-place skills during the day, and the in-home lessons teach you a structured departure routine. Severe separation anxiety may also need vet involvement, which we’ll flag at the evaluation.

My rescue is shut down and hides from everyone. Is that trainable?

Very much so. Shut-down rescues are some of our most rewarding cases. We give the dog a predictable routine, a job to do, and a handler who is calm and consistent — confidence follows.
