Learn MoreWe find the distance at which your dog can see a trigger — another dog, a jogger, a bike — and still think. We train focus and calm at that distance, then close it gradually over the program until walks in Midtown or along the Truckee River path are uneventful.
Reactivity is an over-the-top response to a trigger — barking, lunging, spinning — usually driven by fear or frustration. Aggression is intent to make contact. Many reactive dogs never bite. We sort that out at the free evaluation and build the plan accordingly.
Most reactive dogs make major progress in our four-week Reactive Rehab day-train program. Dogs who have rehearsed reactivity for years may need the extra time our guarantee provides.
That is the standard we train to: pass a dog on the sidewalk, sit at a patio next to another table’s dog, and stay under threshold. It takes proofing in real Reno environments, which is built into the program.
